NoseSweep privacy policy
Last updated: October 4, 2026
In short: NoseSweep runs on your Mac and does not collect, send or sell personal data. There is no analytics or telemetry.
What NoseSweep reads
To find an app’s leftovers it reads, on your Mac, the list of installed apps and the folders of your Library (and the system-wide /Library) related to that app. This stays on your device and is not transmitted. Removals move files to the Trash, where you can restore them.
Network connections
- License activation: the key you enter is sent to Gumroad (
api.gumroad.com) to verify it. Gumroad’s privacy policy applies. - Updates: Sparkle periodically downloads an appcast file from
nosesweep.nathco.appto check for new versions and, if you accept, the update itself. No system profile is sent.
Data stored locally
- In the Keychain: your license key and the count of free removals this month.
- In UserDefaults: your language choice and whether onboarding is complete.
macOS permissions
- Automation (Finder): to move apps and files that need administrator rights to the Trash, NoseSweep asks the Finder to do it. macOS shows its own prompt and NoseSweep never sees your password.
- Full Disk Access is optional and only used to read folders macOS protects.
